Hello! Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m Katie, a writer based in London. Here you will find a collection of guides, stories and snapshot narratives inspired by my travels.
In my full-time job, I write for an international women’s rights non-profit, specialising in content commissioning, production, copywriting and editorial. I hold a first class honours degree in Religion, Culture & Society from Durham University and a MSc in International Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London.
My own journalistic interest is travel. From early travels in Southeast Asia, I developed a curiosity about other cultures, landscapes, and ways of life. Since then, my travels have taken me to six continents, over 50 countries and on many adventures, from camping above a watering hole in Zambia, to getting lost in a Teman Negara rainforest, and escaping a wombat attack in Tasmania.
My writing focuses largely on Europe, South and Southeast Asia, where I have travelled extensively, and Australia, where I have lived and worked. I particularly enjoy sharing stories from lesser known locations, and centring the voices of people I meet.
